Joe Belesi Caught Lying.. No Suprise There

Well, I was right.
The other day I posted about a Massapequa Post article on the republican election-year gimmick of the moment, a reassessment freeze. In the article, Legislator Dave Mejias' opponent Joseph Belesi claimed that "
There are 751 houses for sale in my district."
I suggested he was pulling that number out of his ass.
Just like Schmitt does. (and there are more incidents of Schmitt lying)
The number "751" is very specific so it sounds like it's true. Lo and behold, on the Nassau GOP website there is a press release that quotes Belesi saying "There are over 800 houses for sale in my district alone because so many people have just given up trying to afford Nassau’s outrageously high taxes."
Now let's use Belesi's numbers against him.... in the July Nassau GOP Lie Release.... er.. Press Release, Belesi says "over 800." Now in a mid-august Massapequa Post article he says "751." Looks like the number of sales is decreasing according to Belesi.
And of course a whole other lie is that those "800" houses are for sale because of reassessment. That is a completely false premise and Belesi should be ashamed of himself.
Give it some time and as we get closer to election day, that number will be swinging wildly into the 900's or 1000's.

Pick up a bumper sticker and let other voters know

The Massapequa Post article was written over about a month and a half ago and only recently printed. The number of sales could've easily hit 800+ in a month. Why don't you concentrate on your own lost cause against Schmitt?

So, the Post article was written over a month and half ago? So lets use your logic and then let's look at the date of the GOP Press release from JULY 6th. That's about a MONTH AND AND HALF AGO! So by your logic, Belesi used two different figures within DAYS of each other.
I was asked about the reassessment freeze a week before the article was published.

Seems that my little hater here doesn't like what I am posting. Good.

It's not a matter of hating, it's a matter of setting the record straight. You need to call out all the Republicans for their "lies" in LD14, why not focus on your election against Schmitt? It seems you can never post anything positive about either your campaign or any of the other Democrats running for legislature, but rather just keep on harping that the Republicans are liars on the campaign trail. What ever happened to, as a Democrat put it, the politics of hope? Shameful.

It's called "Nassau GOP Watch." It's not a campaign site.
What record do you want to set straight? Belesi clearly is amking numbers up like Sabellico before him and just like Schmitt does on a regular basis.
The voters in Nassau need to know how harmful people like Schmitt and the nassau republicans are.
I take that back... some republicans in the Legislature didn't want to sign onto the idiotic assessment freeze plan but they do as they are told.

Belesi would vote to bring Nassau County to the brink of bankruptsy once again.
belesi can't be trusted with the future of nassau county.

you are all out of your heads who gives a crap if he lied about 50 or so homes being for sale the bottom line is he will vote to freeze the assesment and mejas won't so if you don't want your taxes going any higher then they are now vote for belise.

Nassau County is on the brink of
bankruptsy because of out of controll spending from both the dems and the reps. but at least belise is not a career polition and he promises to vote to freeze the assesment for FIVE years so out property taxes wont go up for five years mejas refuses to do it!!!

1) Nassau has come a long way since the Dems have taken over
2) Descretionary spending is down.
3) Under the freeze gimmick, your taxes will go up every year. Don't be fooled by Schmitt and Belesi. Mejias refuses to implement a gimmick that will provide no real relief to taxpayers but plunge the county into fiscal instability.

Minutia!! Who cares if its 750 or 800 houses for sale. The Democrats are spending like drunken fools!!! STOP spending and start CUTTING.

Anyone with a the brain capacity of a flea understands that you don't spend when times are hard. You save!!

You don't increase taxes on the taxpayer you cut.

By the way ~ Who is responsible for creating a "Public Safety" division in Nassau?? Which brainiac thought creating a whole new way of spending tax dollars rather than hiring a few more Cops??
